Aspiring Authors: Let's WRITE!

Want to be a published author? The only way to make that happen is by writing and, more importantly, finishing your wip. And the PHS Aspiring Authors program can help!

Welcome to Write Club!

As our Aspiring Authors Group becomes more social and member-driven content wise, with people sharing links to contests and submission calls, writing tips and workshops and talking about their writing problems/successes, we have moved our Author Takeovers to our public pages and gone to town on our Weekend Words Events aka the home of #WriteClub

This is the place we all get together to cheer each other on, offer support and advice. and most importantly, add precious words to our WIP's.

Write Club is the home of our weekend #WordSprint sessions, which also run on Twitter via @pinkhearter at 11.30am, 5.30pm and 8.00pm GMT. The only difference is, in Write Club, you get ten minute warnings for each session, so if you've clicked Interested or Going on the Event page, you'll get an alert.

Our very own PHS Managing Editor, Trish Wylie, leads most of these sessions, working on any one of the four, yes four!, wip's she currently has on the go. And she's available for help and advice along the way, if you need it. Until she needs more tea...

Another difference between Write Club in the Weekend Words Events and the Word Sprints running on Twitter, are the daily Word Sprint Tips and Writing Prompts to help motivate you and inspire your creativity.

You see, you may think you don't have time to write. But with a little organization and a heavy dose of determination, we believe you can make time. Even if you only get a few hundred words written in a Word Sprint session, they're a few hundred more than you had before, right?

In a different time zone or can't make the regularly scheduled #WordSprint sessions? Then simply #BuddyUp with a fellow Aspiring Author in #WriteClub and run your own Word Sprint or 1k1hr session or set a word count goal for the day so you can check in later and see how you both got on.

Sometimes knowing someone else is out there, suffering the same angst, doubt and desperate burning need to reorganize their sock drawer, can make all the difference. If they can't guilt you into writing, maybe they can pep talk you into it. Either way, you may end up with a conference buddy for your published author future!

And did we mention that #WriteClub is the new home of our #PlotBunnies and the #PHSHiveMind? Hit a sticky point in your plot, then the bunnies will hop in to help. Research question you need answered that is sucking all your writing time into a Google Black Hole, then ask the Hive Mind and if they don't know, they're guaranteed to know someone who will know someone who will find out what you need to know.

Don't make us come over there! You KNOW it's time to write. So, come join us in #WriteClub at the Saturday or Sunday Event or even on Twitter, let's get you into a writing routine, and together we'll get that book FINISHED!

Author Takeovers in June

Debut author, Jennie Davids, will be the first to take over our PHS Facebook page on June 6th. Jennie fell in love with romance at the age of twelve. But it wasn’t the handsome, dashing heroes that captivated Jennie's attention. It was the heroines.

Jennie lives in the Pacific Northwest of America with rescue animals that somehow never end up as well-behaved as their bio promised. When not writing. Jennie can be found reading, watching reality TV, or bemoaning how quickly weeds grow back and demand attention.

Then, on June 2oth, our PHS Facebook Page is being taken over from down under! Amy Andrews is an award-winning, USA Today best-selling author, who has written seventy contemporary romances in both the traditional and digital markets. Her books bring all the feels from sass and quirk and laughter to emotional grit to panty-melting heat.

She loves frequent travel, good books and great booze although she’ll take mediocre booze if there’s nothing else. Amy has just moved back to her central Queensland roots, taking a sea change in the pretty little coastal town of Yeppoon, where she gets to stare at the ocean all day.

Got a question? Need to brainstorm? Need a chat? Need a rant? Our Aspiring Authors team is here to help, whether you need advice, some cheese with your whine, or just a good laugh. We can’t wait to hang out with you in the group, our events and on social media. Happy writing!

If you are a published author you can stage a takeover of either our Facebook page or Twitter feed. All you have to do is email us via the contact form here on the site, with Author Takeover in the subject line, and we will get back to you ASAP to book you into the next available slot.
